I couldn’t find this information anywhere, so here it is…

To use your local Hermes install as an agent within Xcode 27 is simple.

Open Xcode “Settings” from the Xcode menu, and select “Intelligence” from the left hand pane.

On the right, click “Add an agent…”

Name your agent, i.e. “Hermes”

Provide the path to your agent, which on my machine is /Users/myusername/.local/bin/hermes-acp

And that’s pretty much it. It works!

If you’re not sure what the path to your agent is, you can find it by opening the terminal and typing in which hermes. This will give you the path to your main Hermes binary, and you can add -acp to the end of it to provide the version that Xcode is looking for.
